The IDOLiSH7 multimedia franchise began as a mobile rhythm and novel game released by Bandai Namco Online in August 2015. Its television anime debuted in January 2018. Following its success, a second anime season was broadcast, and subsequently won the Anime Fan Award at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) in 2021.
